Therese Fiegl – Visionary between agriculture and craftsmanship

Therese Fiegl is a passionate networker, idea generator, and visionary who has been bringing regional projects to life for decades. She is driven by a desire to promote regional interests and to preserve and develop traditional crafts and customs. With her keen sense of tradition and innovation, she succeeds in preserving old knowledge, utilizing regional resources, and finding and creating authentic, high-quality products. Her work always involves building bridges between talented producers, who often have a special story behind them, and consumers who appreciate something unique.

The Bauernkiste – pioneering work in Tyrol
In 1997, the graduate agricultural economist founded BAUERNKISTE, a direct marketing platform for farm products from Tyrol. It was one of the first of its kind and is still successful today. Regional food is delivered directly to your home – fresh, seasonal, and without middlemen. This benefits not only consumers, who receive high-quality products, but also the farmers, who set their own prices and are fairly remunerated. Bauernkiste combines regionality, short transport routes, and waste avoidance into a sustainable overall concept.

Tiroler Edle – Sustainable chocolate with regional character
Just a few years after the Bauernkiste was created, TIROLER EDLE was developed in collaboration with chocolatier Hansjörg Haag from Landeck. This chocolate combines milk and cream from Tyrolean Grey cattle with selected regional ingredients such as plums, cranberries, and mint. The cocoa comes from Ghana, where it is harvested by hand and paid for at above-average fair prices. This benefits both Tyrolean farmers and producers in Africa. A lot of manual labor goes into every bar. TIROLER EDLE stands for conscious, high-quality food production.

Further projects and the concept store
The BAUERNKISTE and TIROLER EDLE were followed by further ideas: Tiroler Reine Seifen (Tyrolean pure soaps), Tiroler Edler Edelbrände (Tyrolean fine spirits) and finally “Tiroler Edles” – a concept store in Innsbruck’s old town. Today, Therese Fiegl’s various projects come together there. The store combines delicacies, handicrafts, and little treasures from North, South, and East Tyrol, making the diversity of the region visible and tangible.

Approach and mission
Fiegl’s projects are united by a clear approach: respect for people, animals, and the environment. “Quality over quantity” is her motto. She wants to bring as many high-quality, healthy products from the region to people as possible, while creating fair conditions for everyone involved. What began as an idea in Thaur has now become a success story that extends far beyond the borders of Tyrol—driven by passion, innovation, and a deep awareness of sustainability.
